To get started you will need the following: Handle Needles Lace Suppliers I’ve tried, and want to try: Handles Handles first, because they usually come with needles and you can probably skip the needles secion if you’re buying a handle for the first time! The “size” is typically a reference to how many fibers you can easily grab at a time with the needle. It can be tricky to find the needles sold individually, rather than as a set with the handle included so I wanted to make sure I shared where I’ve seen them. Harvesting From Your Old Clothes?

I realized I could do something recently and I’ve been kicking myself for not doing it all along since. I have this pair of pants that has been slung over the back of my sewing chair for like a year, they’re ripped in a way that cannot be repaired, and I thought just maybe the fabric will be useful for something else. I’m slowly accepting that there isn’t enough there to do anything with. Normally I would send old clothes off to the thrift store, but sometime they have just seen a few too many days for that. But there are other parts of these pants I could re-use, they were a pair of black khakis so they had a zipper that can come off the front, and they have buttons that can come off the pockets and off of the waistband. I have an old favorite bra that is also completely worn out, and I plan to remove the

Thrift store treasures that save will money on your cosplays

I am a huge fan of the thrift store, I think it’s a fun place to go on a Saturday afternoon and a fantastic place to hunt for cosplay supplies! You can pick up a lot of essentials on the cheap IF you know what to look for. Saving money, saving the environment, it’s probably worth your time. The first section you’ll want to visit is shoes! Cosplay shoes don’t need to be able to endure the same kind of abuse that your everyday shoes will need to endure, so it’s okay if they’re already worn in! I would even consider it to be a bonus, few things are worse than being on your feet all day in a pair of shoes that are not broken in. Leather and vinyl are really easy to paint, so you don’t even need to worry about finding something in the same colour, just grab a pair that is a similar shape. It’s also

Basic Pockets, Because it’s a Nightmare When your Cosplay Doesn’t Have Any

Anyone who has ever cosplayed can agree that wearing clothes without pockets is the second-worst. Know what is even more terrible? Wearing clothes without pockets at the same time as trying to carry a cool prop and all the sweet merch you’ve just bought.  The nice thing is that making pockets is super easy, and you can hide them by sewing them onto liners, or by putting them in places where they will be underneath other layers of your costume. What you need: Fabric Thread Iron Pins Scissors Sewing Machine The first thing you need to do is to get your hands on the fabric you want to use for your pocket. This piece is just some scrap that I had lying around. Fold the fabric in half. The folded edge will be the top opening of the pocket, so choose where you fold with that in mind. The next step is to cut your fabric into the shape you
